Dear Senior Medical Students:

If you received Federal Direct Stafford, Federal Direct Grad PLUS, Federal Perkins, Jefferson Loans, LDS, PCL, and/or private loan funds while enrolled at Sidney Kimmel Medical College, then you are required to complete the educational loan Exit Counseling process prior to graduation. If you do not complete this requirement before April 1 , a graduation “HOLD” may be imposed by the Registrar’s Office. Neither the University Office of Student Financial Aid, nor the Student Loan Office may clear you for graduation until this requirement has been completed.

To complete the required Exit Counseling process, students must:

1) Complete the online Exit Counseling at the federal web site http://studentloans.gov . The option to review a comprehensive summary of your federal aid & complete the online Exit requirement is prominently located in the middle of the page. You will need your federal FSA ID to enter this site. If you have forgotten your FSA ID, go to https://fsaid.ed.gov for assistance.

2) Attend a small group in-person Exit Counseling session. It is highly suggested that you complete the Federal online Exit Counseling before attending the in-person session to help you to better understand the information presented.

Three In-Person Group Exit Sessions have been scheduled. We ask that you register for a session at least 2 days prior to the scheduled date. If you have any questions, please contact the University Office of Student Financial Aid at (215) 955-2867 or by email at financial.aid@jefferson.edu. Please note, light refreshments will be served at each of these interviews.

Thank you for your prompt response and best wishes in your future endeavors.

Sincerely,

Susan McFadden

University Director of Student Financial Aid
